Of the more than 1 billion tons of aluminum estimated to have been put into use, roughly 75% of this versatile and lightweight metal is still in use today… thanks to recycling!

Matalco’s furnaces are so efficient that virtually no waste is produced. Excess furnace heat is captured and recycled – and controls are in place to ensure that air emissions are maintained below governmental reporting thresholds. Also key to Matalco’s environmentally-conscious production process is the filtering and recycling of water, ensuring that we avoid any contamination to the surrounding water tables. Additionally, the normal byproduct of a remelting process (dross) is then recycled in-house yielding salt cake, which is then sold to third parties for other uses.
